Speedy Food Development Program

The government has approved the implementation of Speedy Food Development Program under the National Agricultural Development Scheme on the background of drought in the state. The government has allotted a Rs. 25 Cr. fund for this purpose. Minister of Agriculture, Eknathrao Khadse said this in the Legislative Council today.
Shree Khadse further said that this Program will be implemented prominently in those Taluks from Vidarbh and Marathwada which had less than 50% rain till today and it will be implemented elsewhere later.
The government has allotted a Rs. 25 Cr. fund for the implementation of this Program under the National Agricultural Development Scheme. A grant of Rs. 1500 will be given to cultivate fodder crops on at least 0.2 hectare and at the most 1 hectare of land. Shree Khadse also said that the farmers having cattle and ship with small and very small land will be selected predominantly under this scheme.
